So this book.. What to say…… I liked the concept and the Synopsis grabbed me…
As for the story itself it had me on a roller coaster of do I want to continue reading it or just give it up.

It started slow. Typical high school kids dealing with high school stuff than when the action started and we met Sas and found out what the kids were I was totally digging it. Then as I kept reading the story got bad again. Boring, the kids were annoying. I think Allora’s character at times was a complete contradiction from her character she portrayed at other times. Some of the things they said and did made me cringe. Maybe high school kids are like that these days. I don’t know. I had trouble

Now it wasn’t all bad. There were spurts of action that I actually liked and scenes flow of the story and dialogue that didn’t seem so forced or awkward. And those were really great parts.

I really like the idea behind this story and I will read the next one in the series because I won it in a giveaway and I’m hoping it gets better because there is a lot of promise with the whole Ancient race from like another dimension influencing Earth Mythology. It has adventure, mythology, Sasquatch and some action.

I’m not sure who I would recommend it to. Maybe, those who like YA like Percy Jackson could give it try. Like I said the story is a great idea but sometimes the first book in the series seems to fall flat for me.

Sonora And The Eye Of The Titans Travis Hall 9781466428492 Books Reviews

Loved this book and cannot wait for it to continue into the next! Keeps you guessing and wanting to know more and more about their mysterious past!
I had a little trouble in the beginning of the book because to be honest, the writing isn't that great. It did get better by the end though. The story is a mix of things like Star Wars, Roswell, Percy Jackson and others. It's a fast read due to the fact that the author doesn't go into much detail about anything but then there are times you think to yourself...."but what about..." and you get no explanation.

Overall though, it was a fun story and I'll probably read the next one when/if it comes out.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Sonora, Eye of the Titans. It opened my eyes to young adult fantasy novels. His vivid sense of imagination and adventure kept me fully engaged and wanting to read more. I personally really liked how he talked about fictional characters and had his own little story and definition about them- it made the book fun and entertaining to read. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read this summer. I hope he comes out with a book 2 soon cause my friend are I are waiting patiently!
A fun adventure for teens, and all the better because there were not R rated sequences in it.
Great, natural sounding dialogue and a very fun twist with the parallel world ideas. He created very appealing characters as well.
The best part is it all takes place in our backyard - Oregon!
A very good book! The story reminds me a little like the TV shows, The Magicians & Shadow Hunters. I recommend this book.
I'd like to start this review by saying I am nowhere near the target market that this book is targeting. With that said, I'd also like to say this was a great read. Like any great series of books, there was the sense of the unknown as you read through the story. But as you turned each page and your initial questions were answered, the author had a unique way of making you formulate more. Tying in cues from his native roots in the Northwest, the author reinforced this sense of originality as well as luring me into an emotional connection with some of the characters. Granted I can't say that I know what each of these characters are going through in the sense of finding out about their inherent powers, un-earthly origins, or quest to find the truth but I can relate to subplot of high school teenagers coming into their own as adults. Drawing my own parallel between these teens and my own high school experiences with friends, sports, and the "much anticipated prom" gave the story even more credit with every page I turned. I definitely recommend Sonora and the Eye of the Titans as your next fictional escape from the everyday grind. Since the series will be in full swing after the success of this initial iteration, I look forward to more of my questions being answered in the sequels to come!
Sonora, and the Eye of the Titans was a fast paced thriller that had many great links to historical mythological beings. I enjoyed the ties to mythology and making them part of an alternate history created by Sonorans. The idea behind the story was very original and I loved the Northwest references having lived in Oregon most of my life. After getting to know the characters and the history of their people this book is hard to put down. There is so much that happens that I literally stayed up all night finishing the book and cannot wait for the series to continue!
